Jonathan "Baby Jay" Gutierrez
Baby
Jay started dancing at the age of 4 and began rapping at the age of 6. At
only 16 years old, he has experienced much adversity and struggle in
his life, but through it all he has continued to do well in school and stay
focused. He is a mature, responsible young man who
possesses a rare mixture of innocence and experience.
Baby Jay combines Latin roots music with hip-hop and rap to transfer his personal
trials into positive messages. His incredible talent,
both as a rapper and lyricist is surpassed only by his
presence
on
stage. He
loves to dance and entertain the public with a positive message.
Starlight Runner Entertainment,
in cooperation with Operation Respect, worked with Baby Jay and Hector
Chavez, to produce a hip hop version of the "Don't Laugh at Me" song and
a new video
featuring Baby Jay. On Aug. 18, 2005, Baby Jay made a special guest appearance
with Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey at
the Verizon Wireless Theater, in Houston, TX, to sing "Don't Laugh
at Me." Baby Jay offers assembly programs
focused around the song and the issue of respect. His message is very
well received by both elementary and middle school students.
