Goals
To
advocate and provide leadership in the public and private sectors for positive
change in educational policy and practice:
Use effective advocacy tools to inspire and build a public commitment
throughout communities, among parents and among all grassroots stakeholder
groups.
Promote laws and regulations governing educational policies and practices so
that programs and efforts to create safe and respectful environments, build character
and teach civic engagement are properly funded and included in all educational
settings.
Create alliances with, and collaborate with, organizations and leaders from the
educational, corporate, legislative and community policy arenas.
To provide and promote high quality and effective curricula, materials
and training for schools and other youth serving organizations, that advance
our advocacy efforts and mission:
Strengthen Don’t Laugh At Me curricula by creating additional materials
and improved DLAM professional development opportunities that enrich and extend
the reach and quality of the present DLAM program.
Evaluate the efficacy of DLAM and other OR initiatives to assure its continuous
improvement through ongoing review, research and study.
Build on and collaborate with local, regional and international efforts to advance
OR objectives at the grassroots level.
